The COVID-19 pandemic has changed the world and even for the people at Digital Science, where remote working was already the norm for 75% of the team, the world being turned upside down had a huge impact on the individual team members.

Immediately the ‘what can we do to help’ impulse set in and a lot of initiatives were discussed and started – both internally and with our partners and clients.

One of the initiatives that we started were short focused internal training sessions for the Dimensions API – allowing the team to stay connected, and give the  new ‘working from home’ routine a focused break twice a week. After the first session, a few clients asked whether it would be possible to join these informal training sessions, and many of them did, over the course of the last months.

After 16 sessions over the past few months, we need to acknowledge that the world may not be back to normal for a very long time. We want to continue the training and discussion around the Dimensions API – but in a different form and open to everybody.

From this week onwards, we will host one API session per week which is open to everybody that’s keen to join. The sessions will be a combination of 30 minutes training on a specific topic, followed by 30 minutes ‘office hour’ style Q&A where Michele Pasin, Simon Porter and others are available to answer questions how to solve use cases with the API, provide tips and guidance as required. We will also keep the diary open to go on for longer if needed.

We’re kicking off the series this Thursday (June 4th) with a general introduction to our API and will continue our sessions until the end of August.

Time and Date:  Every Thursday (June 4th until August 27th) from 3:30-4:30 PM BST

If you are interested in accessing recordings from or resources associated with previous sessions you can find them in this Google sheet which we will keep updating as we go along.

We look forward to seeing you on Thursdays!
