The Skolkovo Institute of Science and Technology (Skoltech) and Digital Science announce an agreement that will see Dimensions rolled out across the institution. Dimensions is a powerful, linked-research data platform that provides access to more than 140 million contextualized and integrated research outputs and enables researchers at the university to discover their connections for the most complete view of the research landscape.

Developed in partnership with over 100 leading research organizations around the world, including Skoltech, Dimensions enables users to explore over 99 million publications, $1.3tn of grants, 450,000 clinical trials, 38 million patents, 380,000 policy documents, and their associated metrics. Powerful search, visualizations and reporting functionality make it easy to track research and funding trends, compare performance and research outcomes, and inform strategic planning.

With the Dimensions implementation, Skoltech will be able to utilize the data for collection analysis to optimize journal subscriptions., evaluate and support grant application development and dive deeper into the data to reveal current academic collaborations and find opportunities for new ones.

Professor Maxim Fedorov, Director of the Centre for Computational and Data-Intensive Science and Engineering (CDISE) at Skoltech, commented, “adopting Dimensions integrates well with our advanced research and educational practices, with particular emphasis on applications of artificial intelligence, machine learning, data analysis and high-performance computing in entrepreneurship and innovation. The ability to connect the publication data with other valuable content types such as the funding and patent landscapes will support evidence for the researcher’s impact and future grant eligibility. It also helps us to shape our research and innovation strategies.”

“Skoltech CDISE team has been our valued partner since the development of Dimensions. In this next step, we are making it available to the entire Skoltech community, which will further foster innovative technologies. Our mission is to support innovations globally and we are happy to join efforts with the Skolkovo Institute of Science and Technology” adds Igor Osipov, CEO Digital Science Russia/CIS and VP Academic & Government, EMEA.
