Ingenta and Digital Science announced today the integration of Dimensions Badges into the Ingenta Connect platform, providing enhanced citation metrics allowing authors and readers to explore the impact of a publication.
Ingenta Connect offers one of the world’s largest and most comprehensive resources for scholarly publications and professional research articles online with more than 4.5 million articles from 13,500 publications. The Dimensions Badges will allow Ingenta Connect users to view a snapshot of a publication’s citation history. The badge showcases the rich data within Dimensionsconsisting of detailed citation metrics including total citation count, recent citation count, Field Citation Ratio, and Relative Citation Ratio.
Ingenta has had a long relationship with Digital Science and was extremely interested to learn about the development of Dimensions Badges. “The badges provide a simple visualization of critical metrics, backed by easy-to-understand context which adds significant value to articles,” said Byron Russell, Head of Ingenta Connect. “We have a very large user base, with around 200 different publishers hosting their content on the site. However, even the largest publishing ecosystems can be siloed, and our native referencing system only works within the platform. Dimensions Badges helps us break out of those silos, allowing for a more connected world of referencing.”
