Dimensions Badges and Metrics API Terms of Use
About your use of the Dimensions Badges and Metrics API
You may only use the Dimensions Metrics API if:
– you are an individual, for your personal, non-commercial research purposes, which will extend to include the display of metrics relating to work you have authored but otherwise only internal use;
– if you are acting on behalf of an academic institution (“Organization”) and you have registered with us to use the Dimensions Metrics API, in which case you may use the Dimensions Metrics API for that Organization’s internal, non-commercial purposes, which will extend to include the display of metrics relating to content associated with the Organization within any free-to-use website or other application owned by the Organization (even though adverts may be placed on the website or application and/or you may benefit from increased traffic to that website, as applicable) or other use case we agree in writing (feel free to ask!), but otherwise only internal use.
In all cases, your use must be limited to your own, non-commercial purposes and in accordance with applicable guidelines.
By registering with us, you represent that you have authority to bind the Organization, and your agreement to this agreement will be treated as the agreement of that Organization. Any use of the Dimensions Metrics API by or on behalf of an academic institution that has not registered with us, or by or on behalf of any kind of business or other kind of organization, will not be authorized.
You may use our free Dimensions “badges” (or such other method you choose) for the permitted display of metrics, provided such method ensures that only the latest available metrics are displayed.
You agree to make no more than one request per second via the Dimensions Metrics API and to give appropriate credit by including an attribution is the page where the metrics are displayed and (where electronic) that links back to dimensions.ai, but which does not suggest we endorse you or your use in any way.
You represent that all registration information you submit is accurate and truthful, and agree not to use the Dimensions Metrics API for any purpose not expressly permitted. Without limiting the foregoing, you agree not to use the Dimensions Metrics API for any restricted act listed in the Acceptable Use section of our general terms of use, including in connection with any direct or indirect revenue-generating activities or other commercial purpose or at the direction or expense, or for the benefit, of another person.

THE DIMENSIONS METRICS API IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTY, CONDITION OR GUARANTY OF ANY KIND. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL LIABILITY HOWSOEVER CAUSED AND REGARDLESS OF THE LEGAL THEORY ASSERTED, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE DIMENSIONS METRICS API.
Copyright
You acknowledge that the Dimensions Metrics API is protected by copyright and other proprietary rights, which we and our licensors will retain. You will abide by all relevant copyright notices and usage restrictions and agree that any unauthorized use will result in the automatic termination of any rights granted to you.
General
Together with the general terms of use and additional terms referred to therein (to the extent applicable), these terms constitute the entire agreement with you relating to Dimensions, noting that we may modify or replace these terms at any time.
Any reference to “Dimensions Metrics API” in these terms, includes any data, content, service or resource made available via, or in connection with, the Dimensions Metrics API (as the context permits).
