How SCRA is building a statewide model for secure, trusted research
Research security is often viewed through the lens of compliance. But when it becomes part of an institution’s everyday culture, it can also protect valuable research, support trusted collaboration and build confidence with funders and partners.
In this webinar, the South Carolina Research Authority (SCRA) and Digital Science will discuss how South Carolina is taking a coordinated, statewide approach to research security. Through its Center for Research Security, SCRA is working with seven colleges and universities to establish consistent standards while supporting the different needs of each institution.
Adam Fisher from SCRA will share how the initiative came together, what it looks like in practice and what other institutions and research systems can learn from South Carolina’s approach. He will be joined by Heidi Becker from Digital Science, who will discuss how Dimensions Research Security helps participating institutions validate researcher disclosures and affiliations, assess potential risks and bring research intelligence into their existing review processes.
The conversation will also look at the broader value of research security, from protecting intellectual property and sensitive data to strengthening South Carolina’s position as a trusted partner for federal agencies, industry and other research organizations.
