Perform BLAST sequence search with Dimensions Life Sciences & Chemistry
Seamlessly perform BLAST sequence search with Dimensions Life Sciences & Chemistry
Do you need to quickly discover similar nucleotide sequences disclosed in patent claims?
New AI-powered knowledge discovery solution Dimensions L&C leverages a BLAST sequence index of over 90 million nucleotides and 13 million amino acid and protein individual sequences, extracted from over 25 million patents. The Sequence search tool within the platform enables you to discover nucleotide and protein sequences of interest and related patents in just a couple of clicks.
BLAST sequence search in Dimensions L&C is as easy as simply pasting a sequence in plain text or FASTA format into the search field and hitting “blast”.
The system retrieves the sequences from the database and presents them in an easy-to-use table, where you can find information such as the score, sequence ID, sequence length, score in bits, expected value, identity, positives, gaps and even the option to download a sequence in FASTA format. From here, you can discover how closely these sequences align with your query sequence, by exploring “identity” and “gaps” on the interface.
Importantly, you can contextualise sequences by exploring the patents in which they appear. You can further specify if the sequence has to appear in claims, the most recent patents, specific patent office and more.
